On September 17 to 19, 2019, the Second Inland Navigation Congress took place in Opole, organized by Opolskie Voivodeship. Silesian Logistics Centre JSC took part in the event as a Congress Partner.
The event began on Tuesday with the Meeting of the Council for the Promotion of Inland Navigation, closed session.
Over 700 participants – mainly entrepreneurs and local government officials – gathered its main part – a conference entitled “Towards benefits”.
On Wednesday, several panels discussed, among others financing possibilities for the inland navigation sector, the state of work on programs for the Oder and Vistula rivers, development plans for water and inland passenger navigation, development of digitization of the navigation system.
Opening the conference, Minister Marek Gróbarczyk emphasized that the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation will consistently act to restore the right economic role to Polish rivers.
During the “Polish Water” State Water Conference, it signed a contract for the construction and executive design of the “Åšcinawa” barrage on the Odra River, as well as a letter of intent regarding cooperation in the promotion of inland navigation, water tourism and the rational use of water resources.
